Overview:

Char Dham Yatra is a sacred pilgrimage journey in India, which includes visiting four prominent Hindu shrines located in the state of Uttarakhand. The four shrines are Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath. The yatra typically begins in the month of April or May and continues till October or November, depending on the weather conditions.

The Char Dham Yatra is considered to be one of the holiest journeys in Hinduism, and it is believed that undertaking this pilgrimage helps one attain spiritual liberation or moksha. Each of the four shrines is dedicated to a specific deity, and the journey involves trekking through the picturesque Himalayan mountains and valleys.

The first stop of the yatra is Yamunotri, which is dedicated to Goddess Yamuna. The next stop is Gangotri, dedicated to Goddess Ganga. The third stop is Kedarnath, which is dedicated to Lord Shiva, and it is the highest of all the four shrines. The last stop is Badrinath, dedicated to Lord Vishnu.

The yatra is not just about visiting the shrines, but it is also an opportunity to experience the culture and traditions of the region. The pilgrims can also visit other important places like Haridwar, Rishikesh, and Devprayag, which hold immense religious significance.

Overall, the Char Dham Yatra is a unique and unforgettable experience for devotees seeking spiritual enlightenment and a chance to explore the natural beauty of the Himalayas.
