Hampta Pass Trek, Himachal Pradesh

This place is located at the corridor of Kullu & Lahual Valley of Himachal Pradesh. This pass lies in Pirpanjal ranges of Himalayas, which offers panoramic view of mighty Himalayan mountains. This location is also having unique geological character. One side of pass is full of lush green forest & other side is dry barren land of Lahaul spiti valley. Unique varieties of wildflowers like Myraid hues are observed throughout the trek. These flowers are in various colors such as red, white, blue, yellow, pink & lavender. About this place:

Name of this pass is derived from Hampta village near Sethan. Mid-March to first half of October is the ideal period for attending this trek. Because during this time you can cross Hampta pass can visit Chandratal lake. If you visit after October then pass gets closed due to heavy snowfall. On the route to Hampta pass via Kullu valley, you will witness vast grassland, alpine meadows & pinewood. Once you reach the opposite side of pass, climate is dry & oxygen level also decreases due to less vegetation. The trek journeys over cascading waterfalls, fast-flowing rivers, hanging glaciers & interesting terrain.
